Delphi Appoints New Head of Diesel Engine System R&D

US auto parts maker Delphi (Delphi) has appointed Hans-Josef Schiffgens as Delphi Diesel Systems (Delphi Diesel Systems) research and development director.

Previously, Schiffgens was vice president of research and development for diesel engines in Deutz, Germany; now after joining Delphi, Schiffgens is responsible for the development of Delphi's global diesel engine.

Schiffgens has more than 24 years of experience as a R&D executive in several global car companies, including Deutz, Audi, and Mann.

John Fuerst, general manager of Delphi Diesel Systems, said: "Delphi is one of the world's largest suppliers of diesel fuel injection systems. After joining Delphi, Schiffgens will bring us rich management experience and leading innovative technology solutions."
