On September 6, the State Post Bureau approved FedEx Express (China) Co., Ltd. (Federal Express) and Ubisoft Parcel Delivery (Guangdong) Co., Ltd. (United Parcel) to operate the domestic express delivery business.
According to reports, the first shipments of FedEx were approved in eight cities including Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Tianjin, Dalian, Zhengzhou and Chengdu. The first batch of joint parcels was approved in five cities: Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Tianjin and Xi’an. Domestic express delivery services other than letters.
The relevant person in charge of the Market Supervision Department of the State Post Bureau stated that the State Post Bureau respects the large amount of work done by foreign-funded enterprises to open up the Chinese domestic express delivery market.
