On March 31st, 2012, a batch of 88,802 container trans-shipment trains carrying parts for automobile spare parts and parts was launched from Shiyan station and transported by roads, railways and oceans to Iran directly, signifying the seamless transport of Shiyan automobile parts export containers. Docking officially started.
Shiyan is China's No. 1 and the third largest truck manufacturing base in the world, with an annual output of 800,000 vehicles of various types. Most of its products are exported to all over the world. It is also the most complete auto parts production base in the country. It has an auto parts distribution trading center that “buys the country and sells the country†and the largest procurement center for complete auto plants in China. However, due to the constraints of traditional transportation conditions, Shiyan's products exported to and from home and abroad need to be loaded and transported for many times. This not only has a long transportation cycle, but also has high labor intensity, high transportation costs, and it is prone to cargo damage, which affects the quality of delivery.
After many attempts, the railway department agreed to open a special train for container transportation in Shiyan. On March 29th, 2012, a series of 58 container trains organized by the Wuhan Railway Bureau and the Shiyan Railway Administration Depot arrived in Shiyan. In Shiyan Railway Station and local special lines, the locations were binned in batches and the customs officers were on-site. On the morning of March 31st, 2012, a container train pulled out 1,508 tons of auto parts from Shiyan Station and went directly to Wuhan Yangluo Port and shipped overseas.
