Furuno launches electronic chart information and display system

Recently, Japan Furuno has introduced the new FMD-3200 and FMD-3300 Electronic Chart Information and Display System (ECDIS) with enhanced user interface and functions.

It is reported that the new electronic chart information and display system is for new ships and modified ships, and can meet the requirements for mandatory electronic electronic chart information and display systems for ships that began in July 2012. The new electronic chart information and display system emphasizes user convenience and ease of understanding. More importantly, all the hardware of the system is manufactured by Furuno. The new system helps navigators observe and provide advice in real time. The new electronic chart information and display system is compatible with Jeppesen Dynamic License and supports the Admiralty Information Coverage Service (AIO).
