Asian liquid alkali prices have been stable in Asia recently

Asian liquid caustic soda prices remained stable. Trade activities between buyers and sellers began to weaken gradually before the Spring Festival. Alkaline prices in Northeast Asia were quoted at US$270-280/dry ton FOB, and prices of liquid caustic soda in Southeast Asia remained stable at US$320-330/dmt. FOB. Buyers from the Northeast Asian region and buyers from the West Coast region of the United States are still negotiating contracts. Buyers are still on the sidelines of the contract price in the first quarter, and the final price will be finalized by the end of this month. Alkaline market trading activity was basically completed in January, and Northeast Asian manufacturers are mostly engaged in February contract negotiations. In February, the price of liquid caustic soda was 270-290 US dollars/dry ton in Northeast Asia. Due to the tight supply, the quotation was raised by 5-10 US dollars per dry ton. According to South Korean producers, demand for caustic soda in Asia is strong, and buyers are active. Chinese suppliers have already sold some of their goods at low prices due to the arrival of the Spring Festival and the market is fiercely competitive.

The price of caustic soda in the first quarter of Europe has already risen by 10-25 pounds per dry ton. The buyers and sellers are still continuing to negotiate. The annual and semi-annual price negotiations are still being discussed. The selling price of caustic soda in Europe is uncertain, and the supply of caustic soda in Spain is tight. The price has risen sharply. The local caustic soda price in the first quarter was 320-375 pounds per dry ton.

Despite the decline in demand compared with the previous period, the US caustic soda market continued to be tense, with local export prices at US$285-295/dmt FOB US Gulf. Since November last year, the price of caustic soda in the United States has increased by US$40/short ton. The price of liquid chlorine in the United States has dropped by US$20/metric ton. Suppliers have used this to push up the price of caustic soda. Some manufacturers have firm quotes on buyers, making the market open. The price increases all over the world.
