The grade is determined by chemical analysis (or other method) and is expressed as a percentage. Example: Copper concentrate grade of 20%, that is, in the metallic copper-containing twenty tons of one hundred tons of dry concentrate.
The grade of the product is usually indicated by the Greek letter.
α - indicates the original ore grade (read alpha).
β - indicates the concentrate grade (reading beta).
δ - indicates the tailings grade (read Xi Xi).
