What are the classifications of diesel generator crankshafts?

Diesel generators can be divided into integral type and combined type according to the structural form of the crankshaft.
(1) All components of the integral crankshaft are an inseparable whole. The utility model has the advantages of simple structure, easy processing, small quality, low cost and reliable work. At present, it is widely used in small and medium-sized internal combustion engines (such as WD615 series, NT/NTA855 and other diesel engines).

(2) The components of the combined crankshaft are manufactured separately and then assembled into a unitary body. The advantage is that the spindle journal can adopt rolling bearing, the friction resistance is small, and a certain component can be replaced after being damaged,

As for the scrapping of the entire crankshaft. However, its structure is complex, processing precision is high, and cost is quotient.

The crankshaft is supported on the crankcase by the main journal, and can be divided into full-support and non-full-support depending on the form of support.

A crankshaft with a main journal between adjacent cranks is called a fully supported crankshaft, otherwise it is called a non-fully supported crankshaft.

The fully supported crankshaft of the diesel generator is characterized by one more spindle than the number of cylinders and good rigidity, but the overall crankshaft size is long (such as NT/NTA855 and WD615 series diesel engines). The non-fully supported crankshaft is characterized by a smaller number of spindle necks than the number of cylinders, a simple structure, a short total crankshaft length, but poor rigidity.
