Vortex flowmeter troubleshooting and treatment method

Abstract: The vortex flowmeter designed and produced by us has a low rate of failure in terms of failure rate, and the failures that occur are generally solved after we have guided the reinstallation. The first thing to check when the fault occurs is whether the installation is strictly in accordance with the operating instructions. If there is no problem, check the internal problems of the instrument.

1. Failure analysis often occurs when installing vortex flowmeters

In the inspection of vortex flowmeter installation problems, mainly from the instrument installation location, wiring, flow range, pipeline vibration and interference, etc.

Fluid flow in â‘ , after power pipeline, but no output signal

Approach:

First check whether the wiring of the instrument is normal, whether the signal line is broken, check whether the direction of the arrow of the body is consistent with the direction of fluid flow, and check whether the meter is at the lower limit of the flow range;

2. There is no fluid flow in the pipeline after power-on, but there is signal output.

Approach

Check whether the instrument grounding is normal, whether the pipeline is subjected to strong vibration, and check whether the surrounding environment of the vortex flowmeter has strong electromagnetic interference ;

3. The fluid in the pipeline meets the flow requirements, but the signal output is unstable.

Approach

Check if the pipeline introduces strong vibration interference and check if the instrument grounding is normal.

2 , the fault of the meter itself

The fault of the vortex flowmeter itself is mainly from the failure of the sensor probe, whether the detection amplifier is malfunctioning, whether there is a broken wire inside the instrument, whether the body leaks, etc.

1. There is fluid flow in the pipeline after power-on, but no signal output

Approach

Check if the detection amplifier and the detection component are damaged, and the damage should be replaced or replaced in time;

2. There is no fluid flow in the pipeline after power-on, but there is signal output.

Approach

Check if the converter sensitivity is reduced;

3. Simple judgment method for sensor probe failure

Use a multimeter to measure the insulation resistance of the two signal lines. When the temperature is higher than 200 °C, the insulation resistance should be greater than 10MΩ . When the temperature is lower than 200 °C, the insulation resistance should be greater than 2MΩ . If the insulation resistance does not meet the requirements, the detection probe may be faulty, and the sensor should be overhauled ;

4. Simple judgment method of detection amplifier

A simple method for judging the fault of the amplifier: by manually detecting the signal at the input end of the probe at the detection amplifier, it is possible to roughly judge whether it is a fault of the sense amplifier. If no signal reflects the detection amplification;

Summary: From the data we know about the factory, the failure rate of the installation is quite high, so the installation instructions must be strictly installed during the installation of the instrument, and the problems of the instrument itself are mainly used for more than 5 years. Users have more problems.
