Researchers have developed a low-cost infrared imaging system that can be used to detect natural gas leaks

Researchers have developed a new infrared imaging system that is expected to provide methane gas leakage in low cost, real time pipelines or oil and gas facilities. Methane is a major component of natural gas and its release can be costly and dangerous, as well as contributing to the climate change of greenhouse gases.

"Although methane gas is invisible to the naked eye, we have developed a method of using color-coded gas information and placed it in a traditional camera image," said Graham M. of the University of Glasgow, Scotland. Dr. Gibson said he led the technical work. "This allows the user to manipulate the camera to look around and thus recognize the target and see the presence of an overlying gas."

Gibson worked with researchers from other research groups to develop this real-time infrared imaging system. Already published in the Optical Society's Optical Express magazine, researchers show that the system can capture video of methane leaks at a rate of about 0.2 liters per minute. The technology can also be extended to other wavelengths or wavelength range, which detects a variety of gases and chemicals.

Light Duty Chain Conveyor

Chain conveyors can be designed in a horizontal, inclined, or in vertical arrangement. Conveyor`s bottom and side panels are made off 3mm folded galvanized sheets with 2mm top cover. Drive and tail units fitted with flanged bearing housings with lip seals, Plummer block bearing housing are also available on request.

Hardened head end and tail sprockets are mounted with keys.

Conveyor roller chains and standard sprockets are widely used for these applications.

Tail end comes with adjustable screw take up in standard design; self-cleaning tail end with screw adjustment on driven is available for food products.
