The award-winning multi-energy complementary micro-grid system was built at the training center of the Shanghai Electric Power Company. This project adds a set of building micro-grid systems integrating wind, light and storage to the existing distribution facilities. The functions of demonstration, training and R&D of the Shanghai Electric Power Company have the features of comprehensive functions, advanced technology, and distinctive features. It is a comprehensive green energy demonstration base.
The microgrid system includes a 96.2 kWp rooftop photovoltaic system, a 7 kW wind turbine, 50 kWh zinc bromide flow storage, 100 kWh lead-acid battery storage, a 180 kW charging pile, and 56 kW of important building loads. The microgrid system uses a new type of zinc-nickel flow electrochemical energy storage device to store zinc bromide electrolyte in a liquid storage tank as an energy storage medium, and utilizes a pump and a piping system to electrolyze the liquid in the storage tank. The liquid is pumped into the stack to complete the charge and discharge chemical reactions of zinc and bromide ions. This is the first set of zinc-bromine flow storage device in China. It has outstanding advantages such as long life, high performance, low operating cost, and strong environmental adaptability.
