China's Inner Mongolia is rich in lignite, which has the advantages of cleanliness, low volatility and low sulfur, but is low in calorific value and easy to ignite, and is not suitable for outbound transport. Datang Huayin Electric Power Co., Ltd. saw the economic value of lignite and set out to study the lignite drying technology. In recent years, Huayin Electric Power has introduced foreign advanced clean coal technology and has independently developed and developed LCC technology with independent intellectual property rights. This technology improves lignite dryness. With upgraded lignite, the moisture, volatile matter, and ash content are greatly reduced. The fixed carbon content and calorific value are greatly increased and can be converted into a clean and efficient high-quality energy source.
The LCC demonstration unit produced the first batch of qualified products in June 2011. In the two years from 2011 to 2013, it drove 10 times, with a single continuous over 600 hours of continuous stable operation, drying furnace, pyrolysis furnace, and reactor. Cold plates and other major equipment can meet the long-term operation design requirements. In the course of operation, the overall operation of the equipment is stable, the cumulative average coal tar yield is 3.05%, the average cumulative semi-coke yield is approximately 49%, and the heat generation of semi-coke is increased from 3,400 kcal/kg of raw coal to 5,900 kcal/kg or more. .
At the National Energy Administration's appraisal meeting, experts identified that, compared with other technologies in low-rank coal applications, LCC has advanced technical indicators, strong coal adaptability, simple process flow, safety and environmental protection, and high tar yield. Low energy consumption, low risk of scale-up and ease of adjustment are the advantages of large scale, low cost, and strong market competitiveness. The LCC demonstration unit has achieved key demonstration results and has effectively validated the LCC technology. Experts said that as a new type of technology that fully meets the national industrial policy, its application prospects in the low-rank coal comprehensive utilization field will be very broad.
