Recently, the first million Cummins Westport ISL G natural gas engines went offline at the plant in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. This clean engine will become the new choice for natural gas fuel heavy trucks worldwide.
According to Roe East, chairman of the Cummins Westport Company Workers' Committee, the ISL G engine has passed millions of miles of operational testing and superior performance on four continents is no problem. "We will continue to use mature technology to continuously improve ISL G's future high-performance natural gas engine products with obvious advantages," said Roe East.
Since the launch of the ISL G four years ago, this engine has finally exceeded the milestone of 10,000 units. The ISL G engine can adapt to different natural gas fuels such as compressed natural gas, liquefied natural gas, and renewable energy natural gas. And natural gas is a clean, fuel-efficient, low-emission clean fuel. The use of an ISL G engine does not require a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) and diesel particulate filter (DPF) system.
