Canada finals China's steel plate dumping to continue anti-dumping measures

Yesterday, the Canadian International Trade Tribunal issued a notice to finalize the anti-dumping sunset review of hot-rolled carbon steel plate originating in China, South Africa and Russia: it decided to continue implementing anti-dumping measures.

It is reported that as early as 1997, Canada conducted anti-dumping investigations on hot-rolled carbon steel plates originating in China, and imposed anti-dumping duties of 27.3% on Chinese products involved in the case.

The so-called sunset review refers to the administrative review that is carried out when the anti-dumping duty of the product is levied, and is also called the expiry review. A sunset review will determine whether anti-dumping will continue to be effective, extend and raise the tax rate, or be terminated.

According to Canada’s International Trade Tribunal, the cancellation of anti-dumping measures on products imported from the above countries will lead to continued or renewed damage to Canadian domestic industry. Therefore, it has decided to continue implementing anti-dumping measures.
