Shandong Qingdao wants to build China Rubber Science and Technology City

After having the title of "China Ocean Science and Technology City", Qingdao City is working to build China Rubber Science and Technology City. According to Jiang Bo, in recent years, large-scale state-owned enterprises represented by Qingdao Huanghai Rubber Group and Qingdao Double Star Group have flourished. At the same time, a number of emerging companies have emerged, such as the China National Group, the Wheeled Wheel Tire Informatization Production and Demonstration Base, and Guangming Tire Company. Tire manufacturers, rubber tire industry has gradually become one of the important economic components of Qingdao. In addition to the surrounding Weihai Triangle Group, Chengshan Group, Linglong Rubber Group and many large tire manufacturing companies in the Dongying area, the rubber tire industry in Shandong Peninsula with Shandong as the center has exceeded the national tire industry's total output of more than 55%. An area is gradually becoming an internationally renowned rubber tire manufacturing center and a new technology research and development center. In addition, Qingdao has the only “National Tire Technology and Control Engineering Technology Research Center”, the only rubber university in Asia, Qingdao University of Science and Technology and China's rubber tire industry.

In March 2011, based on the Silicon Valley model in the United States, Qingdao decided to invest about 10 billion yuan in the Sifang District in the northern part of the city. It will build a Chinese rubber valley with a total planning area of ​​nearly 3,000 acres and build research and education, business incubation, and information platforms. Intermediary financial and other functions in one, trade, technology, talent, information, resources, and culture are highly concentrated in the rubber industry ecosystem. At present, China Rubber Valley has been listed in Qingdao City's "Twelfth Five-Year Plan", Shandong Peninsula Blue Economy Development Plan, China Rubber Industry Association's "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" and even one of its long-term priorities. It has successfully introduced Germany. Lanxess High Performance Rubber R&D Center, Ordnance Industry Group Polyurethane R&D Center and other projects. On October 16th, the China Rubber Industry Association's office in the Rubber Valley, the Rubber Association of the Rubber Association, and the China Rubber Association Rubber Shoes Branch entered China Rubber Valley.

Professor Zhao Shugao, director of the Key Laboratory of Rubber and Plastics Materials and Engineering of the Qingdao University of Science and Technology, believes that after all parties' efforts, within five years, the construction of China Rubber Valley will take shape and become China's advanced polymer materials and molding and processing industry base. In the near future, relying on China Rubber Valley, China Rubber Science and Technology City will become another “Beautiful Business Card” in Qingdao.
