Passenger traffic of Guiyang Airport will break millions during Spring Festival

“Today there are 232 flights taking off and landing at Guiyang Airport, an increase of more than 20 vehicles on average.” Wu Bin, commander of Guiyang Airport Field Command Center, told reporters that on the first day of Spring Festival travel, Guiyang Airport increased the number of temporary flights, and the number of passengers transported was 25,000. It is understood that in order to meet passenger travel needs, during the Spring Festival, Guiyang Airport will increase its flight capacity by more than 800 flights, an increase of 163.1% year-on-year. Compared with previous years, apart from Guiyang, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Xiamen, Sanya, Haikou and other major cities, Guiyang will also add new routes to Wenzhou, Nanchang, Fuzhou and Taiyuan. Among them, Guiyang-Guangzhou route plans to overtime 184 flights, Guiyang-Shenzhen route plans to overtime 78 flights, Guiyang-Sanya routes plan to work 86 flights, and Guiyang-Haikou plans to work overtime 84 flights.

"We are fully prepared for the large-scale flight delays during the Spring Festival." Wu Bin told reporters that on the one hand, the airport has strengthened its reserve of safeguarding capabilities, and on the other hand, it has been well-connected with provincial and municipal authorities such as the Spring Transportation Office and the emergency department. According to reports, during the Spring Festival season, passenger flow at Guiyang Airport will be based on student flow, returning home to visit relatives, and migrant workers.
