Basic structure and working principle of external filter cylinder vacuum filter

Figure 1 is a schematic view of an external filter cylinder vacuum filter.

figure 1

An outer filter cylinder type vacuum filter is made of iron or wood large hollow cylinder, two cylindrical surface with many small ditch, its surface covered with cloth. The entire cylinder can be roughly divided into three sections. The small ditch in the 1st and 3rd sections is connected by a pipe and an air extractor (ie, a vacuum pump), and the small ditch in the 2nd section is connected by a pipe and a pressure blower (ie, a compressor). . When the cylinder is in the third zone, due to the pumping of the air extractor (ie, the vacuum pump), the ore particles in the slurry are sucked onto the filter cloth of the cylinder to form a preliminary filter cake, which is called a filtration zone. When the cylinder continues to run to the first zone, the moisture of the filter cake is further sucked up due to the continuous pumping of the vacuum pump, and this zone is called the suction zone. When the cylinder is turned to the second zone, the filter cake adhered to the cylindrical filter cloth is blown off due to the connection of the pipe to the pressure fan, and is scraped off the filter cloth by the squeegee. This completes a filter loop.
The vacuum and pressure distribution of each zone in the above filtration process is carried out through a gas disc, so the gas disc is one of the most important components in the filter.
The gas disc of the filter consists of three parts, as shown in Figure 2. The outer plate a is a fixed part of the disc, wherein the holes 1 and 2 are connected to the vacuum pump. On the right side of the figure is the opposite side of the fixed plate. There is an annular groove on it. The groove is divided into two parts by the spacer 3, and its purpose is to separate the filtrate from the washing liquid as necessary.

The plate b in the figure is a movable member of the disc which is rotated together with the cylinder, and the vacuum chamber of the cylinder is connected to the perforation of the plate b by a tube. The plate c is a replaceable rotating plate, on which the bolts 4 penetrate into the holes 5 of the plate a. The two plates are pressed by a spring. When the plate b and the plate c rotate together with the filter cylinder, the hole of the plate b connected to the pipe can coincide with the annular groove of the plate a, and the annular groove is directly connected to the vacuum pump through the hole 1 and the hole 2. . Therefore, when the perforations of these tubes are facing the annular groove of the plate a, they are evacuated.
In addition to the holes 1 and 2, the plate a has holes 6, holes 7, and holes 8. The compressed air is blown through the three holes to blow the filter cake, that is, when the tube of a certain part of the cylinder is just opposite the hole 6, the hole 7, and the hole 8 of the plate a, the filter cake on the filter cloth surface That is blown down.
Figure 3 is an assembled view of a gas disc.

Beneficiation plant used mainly cylindrical inner vacuum filter type filter, the outer filter type two.
In addition, there are disc vacuum filters, etc., to adapt to the filtration of different concentrates.
